Palace Theatre Case Study

If you have visited the palace theatre in Westcliff-on-Sea the chances are you will have noticed the glazed roof lantern in the bar area. During 2013 Altex were appointed to replace the existing structure.

Internal scaffolding provided a safe working platform and the access required to deglaze and dismantle the existing structure.

Utilising the existing upstand the new external sill is prepared for installation.

Once the sill is fixed in place the sidelight windows are installed. Each elevation incorporates three electronically operated window openings.

The roof ring beam and gable ends are installed.

The roof ridge and glazing bars are added.

Roof, gable ends and windows are double glazed with Pilkington Activ Blue self-cleaning solar control glass.
